Michael D. Cesaro was admitted as a Partner of the Firm on July 1, 2005. He joined the Governmental Services Department of the Firm in 1989 and on July 1, 2010 became Chairman of the department. In this capacity, Mr. Cesaro has the major responsibility for the oversight of all municipal, county, school district, authority, non-profit (GAGAS) and other governmental agency engagements.  His areas of expertise are the audits of county and municipal governments, school districts, non-profit organizations and federal and state financial assistance programs. He is licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant, Registered Municipal Accountant and as a Public School Accountant in New Jersey. He has also been certified by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Local Government Services as a Certified Municipal Finance Officer. Mr. Cesaro graduated Summa Cum Laude from Glassboro State College (Rowan University) where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration.

Experience: During his career, Mr. Cesaro has performed audit services for numerous  municipalities, counties, school districts and non-profit organizations most subject to the requirements of the Single Audit Law. He is currently the partner in charge of one county, six municipalities, two school districts and one non-profit organization. 

Membership in Professional and Civic Organizations: Mr. Cesaro is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, where he currently serves as a member of the Professional Conduct Committee and the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Interest Group.  He recently completed a two year term as Leader of the Interest Group that included the opportunity to provide testimony on matters impacting the accounting profession.  Mr. Cesaro is also a member of the New Jersey Registered Municipal Accountant's Association, where he currently serves as Trustee and Immediate Past-President.  Previously, Mr. Cesaro had served the Association as President, Vice-President and Treasurer.  Mr. Cesaro is also an associate member of the Government Finance Officers Association and an associate member of the Tax  Collectors and Treasurers Association of New Jersey.  In the community, Mr. Cesaro serves as Treasurer of the Camden County Chapter of the American Red Cross, coordinates and facilitates charitable efforts to assist the underprivileged of Camden City via his service with the School District of Camden’s District Parent Center; has served as a member of the Advisory Council for the Food Bank of South Jersey; and also assisted in promoting childhood cancer awareness through his service with the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation.  Mr. Cesaro is a resident of East Greenwich Township, Gloucester County.
